Mumbai, March 30 - The Central Committee of
Revolutionary Marxist Party of India, after a two day meeting, has given a call
to its State units to observe a week in defence of secularism, democracy
and nationalism, by holding Seminars, Mass meetings and Demonstrations from
April 21to 27.
Relasing the decisions of the meeting to the press, Com. Mangat
Ram Pasla, General Secretary of RMPI has stated that the meeting expressed its
deep concern over the prevailing political situation and adopted a report
thereon. It noted that secular, democratic and anti-Imperialist nationalist
values of the Country are being jeopardised by the communal fascist forces led
by R.S.S.. Narinder Modi led government at the Centre is bent upon to handover
our national resources, domestic market and Public Sector Undertakings to the
multi-national Corporations and domestic corporate houses, on the one hand, and
creating an atmosphere of hatred against religious and ethinic minorities,
secular polity and progressive forces on the other hand. Central Committee also
expressed its deep concern at the outcome of Vidhan Sabha Elections held in 5
States, in which BJP came to power by every hook and crook except in Punjab. It
also noted that in U.P. where Yogi Aditya Nath, a staunch advocate of
theocratic State “Hindu Rashtra” is sworn in as Chief Minister, the situation
is more worrisome. The transfering of reins of the state into the hands of such
a communalist and provocateur is frought with big dangers for the secular
fabric and national unity of the country.
It has also been decided that RMPI will observe ‘May Day’ as
“Anti-Communal Day’’ all over the country this year to expose the nefarious
designs of Sangh Parivar, which is openly injecting the communal virus in the
body politic of the country. Com. Mangat Ram Pasla further said that RMPI will
redouble its efforts to unite the Left forces for united struggles of the
toiling masses against the neo-liberal policies being pursued by Narinder Modi
Govt. as well as by the state Govts., which is resulting in increasing
unemployment, price-rise and poverty.
The Central Committee
also decided to hold its First All India Conference at Chandigarh from 23rd to
26th November, 2017.
The Central Committee,
in a resolution, appealed to the Central leadership of CPI(M) to rein in its
Kerala Unit and the L.D.F Govt. to desist from attacking cadres of RMPI. This
attitude of CPI(M) Kerala unit will only undermine the left unity in the state
as well as in the country as a whole. Through another resolution, RMPI
expressed its concern our the court’s verdict awarding life imprisonment to 19
Maruti workers of Gurgaon and demanded the review of this judgement by the
Hon’ble Court. It also supported the struggle of Tamil Nadu Peasants’, who are
sitting on Dharna at New Delhi for the redressal of their demands.
