Jalandhar, August 20- The Revolutionary Marxist Party of India ( R M P I ) has expressed its deepest anguish and concerns over the ghastly developments in Afghanistan after the takeover of that country by the Taliban, especially over their out and out reactionary stance towards women as well as human rights in general.
Comrade K.Gangadharan Chairman, Comrade Mangat Ram Pasla Gen. Secretary and Comrade Harkanwal Singh member central standing committee of the RMPI in a joint statement have stated that along with the cowardice and puslanimity of the erstwhile political leaders of that country who have betrayed the masses during the ongoing gory conflict, the imperialists especially the U S regime and their collaborators are squarely responsible for the current horrific situation in Afghanistan.
It's history that these Talibans were propped up by these very imperialist hawks to destabilize the progressive democratic forces developing there in eighties.
The US imperialists then wanted to establish their puppet regime there so as to intensify their exploitation of natural resources in S.W. Asia.
RMPI leaders further stated that the reactionary fundamentalists are sworn enemies of the overall development of productive forces as well as of social development.
As such they fall an easy prey to the imperialists 's maneuvers aimed at creating their political strongholds for neo-colonial corporate loot and plunder.
The Party further stated that the barbaric onslaught of the Talibans needs to be condemned as much as possible but we will have to be vigilant against the machinations of those forces who want to impart a particular religion colouring to this reactionary socio-polititical formation especially here in India, where some rabid reactionary elements are resorting to similar deadly violence against minorities, dalits and women, with impunity.
The Party leaders appealed to the people to unite against such anti-people reactionary forces and to thoroughly expose their foster fathers who are safely saddled in the State Machineries.
